Design panel OKs three signs for Goff Brothers
Other Committee · Meeting of August 13, 2026
Orleans design panel unanimously approves three signs for Goff Brothers Construction's new Main Street office. John Goff told the board his company, long based in the industrial park, needed "downtown exposure" and leased space above the Orlean Cycle bike shop at 26 Main Street. Members debated a proposed black border on the front sign, with one saying "I personally like the border," before approving the application on a unanimous voice vote.
The board also approved its prior minutes and discussed filling vacant seats on its five-voting-member, two-associate-member roster, floating Historic Committee member Jamie Demas as a candidate. In an informal, off-agenda aside, a member previewed early fire station design renderings, estimating a roughly $55 million project cost and calling the current concept "kind of amateurish looking right now."
