Jenkins framed the work as protection against "the generic, monotonous, typical anywhere USA style design," while Vice Chair Debra Oakes voiced concern that the code had moved the town toward mandates without clear illustrations, saying she had "a little buyer's remorse." Chair John Ostman proposed folding the UTILE typology guide and revised design guidelines into a single unified document, a suggestion Jenkins endorsed.
