Orleans Cultural Council Shifts Art Show to November 13, Debates Movie Night Funding

ORLEANS -- June 1, 2026, Orleans Cultural Council sets November 13 student art show date and weighs outdoor movie co-sponsorship. The council, meeting June 1, voted to hold its annual student art show on Friday, November 13, at 6 p.m. at Town Hall after a scheduling conflict with the Architectural Review Committee ruled out the initially approved November 12 date; artwork from the high school, middle school, elementary school, and Lighthouse Charter School must be submitted by November 6. The council also approved a new color-coded registration system to streamline artwork sorting and agreed to retain an August 3 check-in meeting, in addition to the August 31 session, after members expressed concern about losing two months of momentum during the summer recess.
