ORLEANS — The Orleans Shellfish and Waterways Improvement Advisory Committee reviewed ongoing harbor improvements and water quality monitoring. Chair Craig Poosikian reported that the Rock Harbor loading dock is ready for concrete, with completion expected by March 20, while the Goose Hummock Bulkhead is on track for mid-to-late February completion. Young's Fish Market owner continues working with insurance; no rebuild decision has been made.
A precautionary closure at Town Cove and Meeting House Pond lasted 20 days after a high PSP red cell spike; cells were not detected in shellfish meat. Public comment raised concerns about parking, usability, and maintenance at Paw Wah and other boat ramps, which the committee added to its future agenda.
