ORLEANS — Shellfish committee approves prior minutes and hears coastal research update. Chair Craig Poosikian called the May 21 meeting to order; Owen Nichols of the Center for Coastal Studies presented findings on Pleasant Bay. Natural Resources Manager Nate Sears reported the Herring Run Improvement Project nearly 30 percent complete on design with permitting to follow, Goose Hummock Bulkhead finished, and Oversand Beach south open with north side optimistically expected to open this year.

Red tide conditions in two bodies of water remain closed with high cell counts. Two committee members, John Quigley and Bill Amaru, are terming out in June, with Chair and Vice Chair positions also open.
