ORLEANS — The Select Board left an unresolved code of conduct question for the full board at an Oct. 28 work session. Members Michael Herman, Mary Wright and Mefford Runyon debated whether the handbook's code should cover elected officials. One member said, "I think we have an obligation to lead by example." Another said elected officials are accountable to voters.
Town Manager Kim Newman proposed a January goal-setting facilitator, a retired town manager recommended through the UMass Collins Center. The board also reviewed a revised Recreation Advisory Committee charge cutting membership to seven, which goes on next week's agenda without a vote.
