Orleans Select Board Enters Executive Session on Litigation, Reports Nothing

ORLEANS — February 4, 2025 — Orleans Select Board meets briefly for closed litigation session, reports nothing. The three-member board, led by newly installed Chair Kevin Gallagher and joined by members Andrea Scharr-Reed and Michael Herman, convened February 4 at Town Hall with a single agenda item: a unanimous roll-call vote to enter executive session under the Massachusetts open meeting law exemption for litigation strategy. Town Manager Kim Newman and Assistant Town Manager Mark Reel were also present. The board spent roughly 40 minutes in closed session before returning to open meeting at 2:58 p.m. Gallagher reported "we have nothing to report" before the board voted unanimously to adjourn at 2:59 p.m. The subject of the litigation was not disclosed.
