Finance Committee · Meeting of October 22, 2026

ORLEANS — The Orleans Finance Committee directed staff to seek town counsel guidance on a formal liaison role with the Wastewater Management Advisory Committee and accepted member Richard Berdik's resignation. Chair David Abel proposed Craig Oliveira as the committee's designated WMAC representative, pending town counsel review, after member Edmund Mahoney pressed WMAC's Judith: "Could you share with us the financial analysis you did to reach that conclusion?" Members reviewed past Town Meeting votes, including a 2-5-1 split on a petitioner's article and Mahoney's lone no vote on a bundled capital article. A WMAC community meeting on Phase 2 betterment costs was set for October 27 at 6 p.m.

The committee approved its October 8 minutes, 6-0, and set its next session for November 12 with Finance Director Darrin Tangeman.
