Wastewater panel reviews Phase 2 connections and salt marsh strategy

Orleans Wastewater Management Advisory Committee approves minutes, reviews Phase 2 progress. Program Coordinator John Nelson reported 68 applications received for Phase 2 sewer connections, with only 12 of 374 properties connected and 5 fully completed; 53 remain in the installation phase. DPW Director Richard Waldo noted Phase 3 construction is advancing and Phase 4 design is underway, with a Notice of Award mailed to the Phase 3 winning bidder.

Chair Kevin Galligan led discussion of salt marsh maintenance strategies and suggested exploring 604 Grant programs; the committee plans June agenda items on Mill Pond study, fertilizer regulations, and I/A system policies.
