ORLEANS — Trust board approves $37,330 in emergency housing assistance to family. The Affordable Housing Trust Board unanimously approved $37,330 in emergency assistance for a family of seven through the Harwich Ecumenical Council for Housing program, surpassing the board's $25,000-per-family threshold for roof, siding, guttering, and entrance repairs. Three development projects are simultaneously advancing: the Governor Prence Inn demolition agreement is expected within two weeks with work potentially beginning in late April, the 44 Main Street project cleared the newly approved Downtown Housing Overlay, and the 220 Old Tote Road four-unit development received a $175,000 Seasonal Communities Grant with $165,000 reimbursing Trust project costs.
A warrant article on year-round housing trust management is scheduled for fall town meeting.
