Snow Library Board approves community refrigerator project.
Snow Library Board of Trustees · Meeting of April 7, 2026
ORLEANS — Snow Library Board signals support for community refrigerator project. The Orleans Health Department will manage the refrigerator, funded through a Barnstable County grant and installed in the library vestibule to provide food security relief through the Family Table Collaborative, with donations handled by the Health Department office. Library Director Tavi Prugno reported that the library has transitioned book acquisitions from bankrupt vendor Baker and Taylor to Ingram, a state-contract vendor, though enrollment remains incomplete due to industry-wide migration delays.
The Friends of Snow Library reported year-to-date net income of approximately $71,500 through February 2026, with first-time donors climbing to 198, more than double the prior year.
