Orleans Wastewater Committee votes $45,000 for aquaculture planning.

Orleans Wastewater Management Advisory Committee approves $45,000 aquaculture planning request. The committee voted unanimously to recommend the funding for the Mill Pond Project and forward it to the Select Board for the town meeting warrant, according to minutes released after the March 12 hybrid meeting. Tim Harrison of AECOM presented preliminary timelines for Mill Pond Aquaculture work extending through 2028, while John Nelson reported that a Clear Water test was completed with the Department of Environmental Protection and recertified on March 4, 2026.

The committee also reviewed 2025 operational data from the Orleans Wastewater Treatment Facility on nitrogen removals and load reduction as part of adaptive nitrogen management planning.
