Orleans transportation panel deliberates on Mill Lane safety, CCRT connections.

Transportation and Bikeways Advisory Committee · Meeting of February 2, 2026

Orleans transportation panel defers Mill Lane safety action pending research on condominium tree plantings. Committee members Peter Allgeier, Chair; DPW Deputy Director Calvin Sutton; Planning Director George Meservey; and Police Vice Chair Scott MacDonald discussed dangerous overgrowth at the Beach Road intersection but determined further study is required before recommendations can proceed. The committee also approved targeting 500 thousand dollars for Main Street design and engineering work in the fall town Warrant, with consultant VHB to deliver field survey results by end of February.

A three-phase improvement plan for West Road and Salty Ridge, ranging from signage to a shared-use path expansion, was presented, with member Griffin Ryder directed to explore Cape Cod Commission funding options for long-term construction.
