Orleans preservation committee approves $830,943.84 in FY27 preservation grants. The Community Preservation Committee voted unanimously to fund 16 projects including $300,000 for Civil War Monument restoration, $50,000 for CHO archiving, and more than $1.1 million in affordable housing initiatives across Harwich, Chatham, and surrounding communities. Applicant Kevin Higgins withdrew the Veteran's Park Memorial application during the public hearing and urged the committee to approve the 1883 Civil War Monument project instead, which received the committee's unanimous support. ===END BRIEF===
