ORLEANS — Energy committee finalizes 2026 climate priorities. The Energy and Climate Action Committee reviewed and finalized its annual goals, establishing seven priority areas for municipal energy efficiency, renewable energy development, private-sector climate participation, electric vehicle infrastructure, transportation, and climate adaptation. The updated 2026 agenda includes completing Orleans' Climate Action Plan and pursuing state Climate Leader Community certification, which requires adopting a specialized building energy code and maintaining municipal zero-emission vehicle initiatives.
All six committee members attended the January 13 meeting, with one participating via Zoom.
