Open Space Committee · Meeting of January 21, 2026
ORLEANS — Open Space Committee approves November minutes and receives CPC funding allocation report. Hardie Truesdale reported that most Community Preservation Committee projects approved for the May town meeting warrant, including $300,000 to the Affordable Housing Trust and $1 million allocated to pay down Eldridge Park Project debt. Stephen O'Grady from the Orleans Conservation Trust noted that the Open Space and Recreation committees' combined share of CPC funding is limited to 10 percent, with no additional funds available beyond that threshold due to the Eldridge Park debt payment.
The committee discussed potential future land acquisitions, including a 15-acre parcel on Toms Hollow Lane in South Orleans.
