Old King's Highway Committee approves three applications at March hearing

Old King's Highway Regional Historic District Committee · Meeting of March 5, 2026

ORLEANS — Old King's Highway Committee approves three exterior projects unanimously. The panel voted 5 to 0 on solar panel modifications at 48 Defiance Lane after the Fire Department required design changes, a 640-square-foot agricultural barn at 239 Rock Harbor Road featuring natural materials and slate blue doors, and a residential addition with siding replacement at 8 Hofe Road in smokey blue. Chair Richard Weeks also proposed removing language from the online application that white is the only pre-approved color, and the committee decided to retain the practice of having the chair sign Certificates of Exemption while referring questionable cases to the full committee.
