ORLEANS — Marine & Fresh Water Quality Committee endorses five warrant articles for May town meeting. The committee unanimously voted 7-0-0 to support Articles 25, 26, 29, 31, and 32, including $215,000 for water quality monitoring and Cedar Pond restoration and $45,000 for Mill Pond aquaculture. Articles 25 and 26 address continued sewer phase implementation and contingency costs.
Three committee members, Chair Carolyn Auty, Mary Griffin, and Ed Hafner, disclosed that they also serve on the Orleans Conservation Trust board in connection with Article 29, which seeks funding to purchase 32 Locust Road for conservation purposes.
