FINANCE COMMITTEE ESTIMATES FIRE/RESCUE DEBT AT $700 PER HOME

Orleans Finance Committee examines debt load and fire/rescue costs. Treasurer Scott Walker and Director of Finance Darrin Tangeman presented the town's debt position and forecasted debt service through fiscal year 2031, including estimates showing the fire/rescue project will cost approximately $700 per year on the median-home tax bill beginning fiscal year 2031. Select Board member Mark Matheson provided a firehouse project update.
The committee also heard discussion of a residential tax exemption petition.
