ORLEANS — Energy committee secures $150K grant for heat pump, weatherization work. The Orleans Energy and Climate Action Committee received $150,625 in competitive Green Communities Grant funding, with $10,000 allocated to administrative costs and the remainder directed to the Council of Aging for heat pump and weatherization projects. The committee reviewed a draft Municipal Construction Policy requiring all-electric development with passive house design standards.
EV charging infrastructure projects continued advancing, with Level 2 chargers at Nauset Beach and 139 Main Street ready for installation and the DC Fast Charger at Depot Square awaiting above-ground hardware installation. The Climate Action Roadmap was awarded to Kim Lundgren Associates for under $50,000.
