Economic Development Committee Reviews District Improvement Financing Study

Orleans Economic Development Committee hears preliminary findings from District Improvement Financing feasibility study. The committee learned that DIF implementation in the Village Center could generate $2.3 million over 10 years or $9.6 million over 20 years, based on a technical assistance grant through MassDevelopment. Amanda Newmiller of MassDevelopment and Victoria Storrs of Storrs Associates presented the analysis, now approximately two-thirds complete with a final report expected in early April.
Committee discussion focused on potential uses of DIF revenue beyond infrastructure, including economic development programming and staff capacity.
