Orleans Cultural District Committee faces recruitment crunch as recertification looms. The committee unanimously allocated $1,800 from the Cultural District Grant Fund for the First Friday grants program and authorized $150 payment to Frank for sound system work. However, four members have resigned or will depart in June 2026, reducing the active roster to Paul Shorthose, Deborah Winnick, and Laurie Gengarelly.
Massachusetts state recertification by July 1, 2027, requires six members including a local artist; the committee plans to shift to an advisory board model with Recreation Department staff support.
