Council on Aging supports Eldredge Park renovation with accessibility features

Council on Aging · Meeting of April 21, 2026

Orleans Council on Aging unanimously supports Eldredge Park renovation plan. The board voted to authorize Chair Denise Dunlap to send a letter of support to the town's Director of Recreation with recommendations for accessible parking with flat-ground access for older adults, seating with backs and armrests, and potential bathrooms and lighting. Director Judi Wilson reported 215 to 230 new clients monthly, prompting a planned increase in the COA Revolving Fund spending limit to $100,000 for FY27.

The board is recruiting to fill three vacancies opening when member Bill Salem's term ends in June.
