Orleans Council on Aging confronted October building closures and budget strains. The board unanimously approved April minutes and learned from Director Judi Wilson that three weeks in October will bring major repairs including HVAC, roof, and generator replacement that will suspend most programs while Rock Harbor Respite continues. The board unanimously raised the 53E Revolving Account spending limit to $100,000 and unanimously directed the Finance Department to better reflect Social Day Program funds, which generate significant unreported revenue, in the town's budget document.
The COA will reduce The Tidings Newsletter's costs by removing unresponsive residents from the mailing list while keeping print copies available at Town Hall and Snow Library.
