Conservation Commission approves new Monument Road dwelling

ORLEANS — Conservation Commission approves Monument Road residential project. The Commission voted unanimously to approve the John and Meghan Lyons project at 169 Monument Rd, involving demolition and reconstruction of a dwelling within the 100-foot buffer zone to a Coastal Bank and the Pleasant Bay Area of Critical Environmental Concern, with mitigation including removal of invasive vegetation and native species restoration. Conservation Agent John Jannell reported that the Commission unanimously denied a Certificate of Compliance for the Michael and Suzanne Afergan project at 21 Megs Ln, citing noncompliance with design requirements, and approved Administrative Reviews for tree-removal projects at 14 Kescayogansett Rd and 27 Ruggles Rd.
The Commission deferred a decision on Matthew Schmidt's request to remove three pine trees at 10 Larboard Ln pending on-site inspection.
