Conservation Commission approves healthcare building, continues boathouse review

Conservation Commission · Meeting of May 19, 2026

Orleans conservation board approves healthcare project, continues boathouse review. The Conservation Commission voted unanimously to issue a Certificate of Compliance for Cape Cod Healthcare's medical office building project at 42 Route 6A, which involves demolition of an existing restaurant and construction of a new building with upgraded parking and drainage. The Commission unanimously approved tree removal and runoff stabilization at 1 Sandbar Lane but deferred a tree removal proposal at 10 Larboard Lane, requiring one-to-one tree replacement as mitigation.

The Commission continued its public hearing on a boathouse renovation project at South Orleans Road to June 16, with members requesting additional specifications on construction materials, stair details, and mitigation plantings.
