Committee reviews nitrogen compliance planning, drought response.

Orleans Wastewater Management Advisory Committee approves prior meeting minutes and addresses nitrogen compliance planning. Chair Kevin Galligan presided over discussion of Michael Giggey's Wright-Pierce presentation on TMDL compliance in the Meetinghouse Pond sub-embayment and nitrogen management planning using the town's water use database. The committee reviewed 2025 Innovative/Alternative Septic Systems Monitoring Results and correspondence noting that Orleans remains at historic Level 2 drought status, with nonessential outdoor water uses banned from May 1 through December 31 except for drip irrigation and hand-held watering of ornamentals and gardens.

Members approved the April 9, 2026 meeting minutes unanimously and adjourned at 11:25 a.m.
