ORLEANS — The Architectural Review Committee approved a new sign for Outer Cape Health Services and scheduled further review of the town's fire station design. The committee voted unanimously to allow Outer Cape Health Services to replace the sign face at 204 Main Street, the former Orleans Medical Center, where it will operate a health center with eight exam rooms and a pharmacy. Committee members heard a preliminary design presentation for a 40,000-to-42,000-square-foot fire station by Richard Pomeroy and Paolo Carusini of Galante Architecture Studio; a cost estimate is expected in early December with spring bidding anticipated.
Members expressed differing views on design elements and voted unanimously to continue discussion on October 1.
