Orleans transportation committee unanimously approved comprehensive bicycle safety signage improvement plan. Members Joel Porten and Robert McDonald developed the plan after surveying existing signs and identifying inconsistencies, recommending replacements based on state-approved designs. The committee tasked DPW Deputy Director Calvin Sutton with implementing the recommendations, with continued input from Porten and McDonald; Sutton reported 10 new state-approved signs had already been ordered.
The committee designated downtown Main Street and Skaket Beach area as priority locations for Full Lane Use signs and discussed requesting state replacement of six signs on Route 28 and 6A.
