Orleans Conservation Commission approved three coastal residential projects Tuesday while requiring substantial boathouse design revisions to protect Pleasant Bay habitat from light pollution. The Commission voted unanimously to approve renovation work at 26 and 58 Tides End Ln by REEF Builders for Robert and Laura Muller, with special conditions requiring construction staging limited to existing driveways and fescue seeding for disturbed areas. For boathouse reconstruction at 34 Jack Knife Point Rd by Jack Knife Point LLC, the Commission approved the project after the applicant agreed to reduce glass, add darkening shades, and limit outdoor lighting to one fixture on a timer to address member concerns about light pollution affecting wildlife habitat.
The Commission also approved an amended Order of Conditions for a boathouse at 77 Keziahs Ln and denied an administrative review for 65 Herring Brook Wy, requiring a Resource Area Determination instead.
