ORLEANS — Board of Health tightened sewer compliance deadlines as hearings continued to March 5. The board continued show cause hearings for two properties under sewer connection orders: 8 Old Tote Road faced a $200 daily fine if no tangible progress update was provided by the deadline, while 34 Route 6A was ordered to complete work before summer with no further extensions granted. The board unanimously approved septic installer Pastore Excavation and temporary food permits for Island Café and Grille and Olivia Paige Fisheries.
Health Agent Meredith Ballinger reported that order letters for approximately 30 to 40 properties with completed applications will be mailed late March, pending input from the Board of Water and Sewer Commissioners.
