Orleans Board of Health approved four septic and pool variances at its May 21 meeting. The board granted a six-month deferral for 157 Route 6A and septic variances at 95 Barley Neck Road, 4 Nickerson Road, and 96 Briar Spring Road, the latter allowing an additional 110 gallons per day. A pool fencing variance at 21 Little Bay Road extends the required 20-foot distance to 54 feet from the pool apron.
The board denied two requests to reduce monitoring for seasonal systems, seeking at least four tests before reconsidering. Four administrative permits were approved: food licenses for Cibo and Golden Jalapeno Tex Mex, a tobacco license for Main Street Wine and Gourmet, and a farmers market permit for Hillside Farms Poultry.
