Board Approves FY27 Budgets, Activates Water Restrictions

Orleans Water and Sewer Board unanimously approves FY27 budgets and activates drought restrictions. Chair Virginia Farber and members voted 7-0-0 on the fiscal year 2027 water budget, with the sewer budget passing 6-0-1 after Mark Berson abstained. The Board also voted unanimously to enact Level 2 water use restrictions effective May 1 through December 31, 2026, in accordance with state drought policy, and authorized inclusion of drought notification in April 1st water bills.
The Board acknowledged substantial completion of the Phase 2 Meetinghouse Pond Collection System and Pumping Station project, opening the way for the Board of Health to notify property owners of required 12-month connection orders.
