Assessors approve motor vehicle excise tax commitment

ORLEANS — Board of Assessors approves $1.3M motor vehicle excise commitment. The board unanimously approved Motor Vehicle Excise Tax Commitment #1 for 2026 encompassing 8,355 bills totaling $1,308,463.41, to be mailed by February 20. Board members Nicholas Bono and Kerrin Lafrance also approved a prior-year commitment for 159 bills totaling $10,046.41, plus abatements totaling $100.77 across motor vehicle and vessel excise categories.
