Orleans Agricultural Council Chair Alexander Bates Departs Council, August 10 Restart Now Planned. Following Chair Bates' announcement of his departure, the council voted unanimously to skip its July meeting and reconvene on August 10 under interim Chair Peter Jensen. The council reported positive operations: the Orleans Farmers' Market thriving in its outdoor summer location with Putnam growers welcomed, Putnam Farm's barn assembly underway with expected completion by late July, and Nauset schools expanding gardens through grants from the Nauset Garden Club and Cape Cod Five.
