Orleans Agricultural Advisory Council hears citizen push to change cannabis donation rules. Putnam Farm Citizen Advocate Rick Francolini reported that a pilot program reimbursed producers $4.00 per pound for 500 pounds of produce contributed to Lower Cape Outreach Council's pantry, with community volunteer Mary Wright leading a legislative initiative through state representatives Hadley Luddy and Julian Cyr to change Cannabis Commission rules. Conservation Commissioner John Jannell reported two farm plots awarded to new growers and construction bids open for a new washing facility with a spring deadline.
The Council unanimously approved December minutes and tabled Right to Farm Bylaw review until February 9.
