ORLEANS — Affordable Housing Trust Board established strategic priorities focused on membership recruitment, funding expansion, and advancing housing projects. Chair Alexis Mathison led the board in identifying four opportunities: short-term rental registration expansion to year-round coverage, the 44 Main Street project, income stream diversification, and wider Trust communication. Assistant Director Elizabeth Jenkins reported that a warrant article is being developed to expand year-round operational capacity and the Governor Prence project has received an eligibility letter, advancing to the Zoning Board of Appeals, Site Plan Review Committee, and Architectural Review Committee.
The board's highest priorities include convening a roundtable to engage Planning Board, Architectural Review Board, Select Board, Community Preservation Committee, and Economic Development as stakeholders in achieving the goal of 350 housing units with 150 as deed-restricted affordable housing.
